The Bike Project
Submitted by Becky Marval
The Mobile Outreach Street Health (MOSH) is an outreach team of health care professionals that provides primary health care to folks who are homeless, street-involved, or at risk of homelessness. Many MOSH clients lack transportation due to limited finances or physical health conditions that make walking long distances impossible. This barrier can have big consequences. Based on the experiences of MOSH clients and research evidence promoting engagement, physical activity, choice and control as key to health, MOSH has come up with The Bike Project, which allows clients to access bikes so they can run errands or just get some great exercise.
